Secretary General
Samantha Wickramasena has retired from the Sri Lanka Army on 11 August 2022 in the rank Major General of Sri Lanka Army on completion of an unblemished service of thirty-four (34) years. He has initially graduated with a BSc (Defence) degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Kotelawala Defence University followed by his Masters’ degree in Management Studies (MMS) from Osmania University, India. In addition, he has secured a Senior Level Defence Management Diploma to his credit from the University of Indore, India, while being a graduate of the Army Command and Staff College, Batalanda. His office of command has comprised of several distinguished command appointments including General Officer Commanding of Infantry Divisions and Brigade Commander of Infantry Brigades and many other key Staff appointments. He has also rendered Foreign Service of one year as a Military Observer in United Nations Mission in Eritrea and Ethiopia. He has attended at many overseas courses, workshops and seminars of professional value.
Major General Samantha Wickramasena (Retired) is a proud product of the Royal College, Colombo 07.
